Sticker material selection-paper material

In product packaging, adhesive labels as a direct transmission of product identity, the choice of its material is particularly important. When we customize the label, how to accurately select the most suitable label material for the product? From the basic paper characteristics, ink absorption, water resistance, tear strength, to environmental protection requirements, cost considerations and other factors, every detail affects the final performance of the label.

Adhesive labels are generally divided into two types, paper stickers and film stickers. We shared the commonly used film materials in the previous article. Today we will share the paper materials commonly used in self-adhesive labels. By understanding the differences of these materials, we can more accurately match the product characteristics and customize labels that meet the needs and show taste.

1, matte coated paper

Coated paper is a kind of paper which is coated with a layer of white paint on the surface of the base paper and then processed by super calendering. Its surface is smooth and meticulous, high gloss, with good stiffness and thickness, ink absorption performance is very good, printed color reduction is good, strong sense of layering.

Characteristics: good viscosity, not easy to drop paper, smooth surface, coated paper itself is not waterproof, not oil-proof, can be torn, after the film has a certain tear resistance and waterproof.

2. Mirror coated paper

Mirror coated paper, also known as glossy paper or glass card, is a kind of advanced printing paper. Its surface is specially treated to form a smooth and bright white feature, which is more shiny than ordinary coated paper.

Features: the surface of the special treatment process, can improve the label wear resistance and water resistance.

3. Thermal paper

Thermal paper is a kind of processing paper, thermal paper label is a high heat sensitive thermal coating treatment of paper, the manufacturing principle is to coat a layer of "thermal coating" (thermal discoloration layer) on high quality base paper. Using your fingernails to scratch on the paper will leave a black scratch, which is the easiest way to test thermal paper.

Features: The material can be easily torn, usually not waterproof, not oil-proof, but some products have a certain degree of waterproof.

4, fragile paper

Fragile paper is a kind of composite anti-counterfeiting material with fragile printing material as the fabric, coated with special strong adhesive on the back and coated with silicon protective paper as the bottom paper. The softening point of the material is low, the printability is the same as that of coated paper, and the printing effect is good.

Because the fragile paper has low tensile strength and is easily broken, it is generally used as an anti-counterfeiting label in application. After peeling off the adhesive seal, the label paper is broken immediately and cannot be reused.

Characteristics: Once attached to the object, it cannot be torn off completely, and it cannot be formed after being torn, just like an eggshell is broken.

5. Glossy paper

Photosensitive paper label is a kind of label material made by a specific process. Its main feature is that the surface is covered with a layer of light silver film, which gives the label a unique luster and texture.

Features: light silver paper has a unique metal texture, wear resistance, scratch resistance, with a certain degree of water and oil resistance, long service life, not easy to fade.

6. Laser paper

Laser paper is a special label material. It mainly acts on the film with the laser effect, and then combines with the base paper, and then tears off the film to transfer the aluminum layer to the paper. This technology makes the laser label paper not only has the function of preventing moisture and odor diffusion, but also increases the aesthetics of the packaging.

Features: Laser paper has the characteristics of high gloss, unique visual effects, bright colors and long-lasting, smooth surface and easy printing.

7. Embossed paper

Embossed paper is a kind of paper with unique texture and decorative effect. It forms various uneven texture patterns by embossing on the surface of the paper, making the label have unique texture and visual effect.

Embossed paper has a unique texture, feel more delicate, soft, giving a senior, elegant feeling.

Features: Embossed paper material is light and flexible, with unique texture, as well as good ink absorption, good printing adaptability, environmental protection, etc.
